I thought I would move some of these into Video to help you understand the benefits of some of these sites.

Eye Piece – Can you See Beyond Numbers with Duct Tape?

If you thought the title was a bit confusing let me enlighten you.

The answer is Yes.  See Beyond Numbers is the title of John Jantsch’s latest podcast episode on the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast.

This is one of my favourite podcasts and I recommend it highly.

In the podcast John interview’s Greg Cabtree the author of Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profits: 4 Keys to Unlock Your Business Potential.

I recently wrote a post entitled “Why Don’t Profits Equal Cash?” and Greg’s message is on exactly this theme.  He has spent many years helping small business owners overcome number blindness to enable them to manage their business using the numbers that count!

You can access the podcast episode here.  I would strongly recommend any business owner spending the 20 minutes to listen to the interview and I would then challenge any of you NOT to buy the book.  I did and have it now on my Kindle Reader on my iPad.

If you go to Greg’s site Seeing Beyond Numbers you can download some tools for improving labour, cost and profit and the book teaches you how to use these.  Greg is also adamant that business owners should be focusing on understanding and managing cash flow not profits and tax minimisation.  A man after my own heart!

6MS Eye Piece 4 Jan 2012 – Mixergy – Mixing it up with Entrepreneurs!

This is the first Eye Piece for 2012 and I want to share with you a great Site and  Podcast that I have found and have been listening to over the holidays that have fantastic content and which I am firmly hooked up to.

I am talking about Mixergy from Andrew Warner.  

Andrew’s specialisation is great interviews with Entrepreneurs.  He gets them to talk about their businesses, how they became successful and often, what mistakes they made.  He doesn’t pull his punches but is respectful while being probing.  He has recorded over 600 interviews which is amazing and as you probably can’t spend the whole year listening to them – although I am tempted – you can scroll through and cherry pick the entrepreneurs or topics that grab you.

Andrew also has a premium membership area on his site where he monetises his expertise through creating courses with many of these entrepreneurs and helps you to learn in more detail.  The smart part of this is that once you sign up for the premium membership ($25 a month, $65 a quarter or $199 a year) you get unlimited access to all the premium content on the site. If that is what you are looking for – thats great – but the free content is really valuable and stimulating.  I recommend it because I use it :)

6MS Eye Piece 23 Nov 2011 – Lifestyle the Virtual Way with Chris Ducker

The Virtual Business Lifestyle is what it is all about!

I want to showcase this blog and podcast in my Mid-Week Site Slot simply because I get a lot from it and really enjoy Chris’s written content and podcast.

Chris is an Englishman (a Brit) who has the undoubted pleasure of living in the Phillippines from where he runs a successful outsourcing business.

His blog and podcast is all about how to live the lifestyle of a virtual entrepreneur.  For those of us still seeking enlightenment and walking the rocky path of the daily grind, he has masses of content which you can adapt to become more creative and more productive, even if you don’t completely virtualise your lifestyle.

His podcasts (of which there are 49!) contain great interviews and there is always something to take a note of or follow up.  Chris is about to reach Podcast Episode number 50 (Has he managed to get Gary Venerchuk on the podcast??? If not, come on Gary….) and for that we applaud and salute him.

I have no financial arrangements with Chris, this is simply a really great source of content and information from a Perennially Entertaining Chap!  I strongly recommend you check out his site at The Virtual Business Lifestyle and his Podcast on iTunes.

6MS Eye Piece 16 November 2011 – The Rise to the Top – Podcast Nirvana?

One of the great delights of listening to Podcasts and reading Blogs is that you never know where it will lead you.  There are so many amazing sites out there, it is so difficult to find the good ones.

Chris Ducker has done it again for me.  In his Virtual Business Lifestyle Podcast episode 49 he has interviewed David Siteman Garland who has a great blog and podcast at The Rise to the Top.

He interviews a wide range of entrepreneurs in his podcast (over 200 to date) and he has now widened the scope of this interviewees to encompass a wide range of high achieving people.  He has recently published a book – Smarter, Faster, Cheaper: Non-Boring, Fluff-Free Strategies for Marketing and Promoting your Business (not an affiliate link) which is available on Amazon.

If you want to find one amazing page on his site – go here – 20 Unconventional Entrepreneurs that will inspire you.  The amazing part of this is that he has interviewed them all and there are links to the interviews there.  This is a must to addition to your business podcast listening.
